Disapointment and fresh legs or QoL

The plan was to go skiing today and on the way to fill up gas in the car. Well first my Preem card was denied because this months payment not been registered yet and then I realized that I left the ski boots behind. What a crapshoot! Well long story short, I did go running instead and it was an enjoyment with nice weather and fresh legs. I had the sun setting over Lake Siljan for my outward part of the run and when I turned back and faced East again the moon had risen and was hanging in it's full glory. True quality of life.

Could not find time for exercise today so I have to take a rest day I guess and get back to eating all the good stuff. Maybe have to do double runs tomorrow then ;-)

Christmas Eve

Merry christmas to all. I hope you enyou your day as much as I have done. Good food and lots of it and good company and watching a 3 year old being in charge of hand ing out the presents is priceless. Also had time to make room for all the food with another winter run. 8 kilometers through Vikarbyn and made it all the way up to Granmor which is reachec by running uphill for 2.50 k from the start. On the way you gain about 100 meters elevation.

Todays exercise was 8k cross-country at Tolvåsspåret in Rättvik. The track name translates in to 12-hills track and it starts at the top of the ski hill and the first kilometer and half is downhill which might give you an idea of what the last 2 kilometer is like. But if you like to get back to your car you have to get through the climb. It was a nice run even if the sun was not out and it was snowing a little bit. My skis were ok and any problem with grip was due to bad form on my part, but it got better the longer I went. I guess all the running is paying off since I did feel strong all the way. Now I will have to see how the body feels tomorrow.

Vinter run

Went for a nice run in a vintery Vikarbyn. I have not been out for a while so I felt I should not go that far and also it was vinter roads. Even though it was -7 (19F) it was good conditions for running for the most part as seen below.

I still have some 60 kilometers to run to beat my total from 2011 so just have to get out there again but tomorrow I'm trying cross-country skiing.

Look back at week 48

This week it was time to get back to training. Wednesday marked the time I ventured back to a gym for the first time in at least 3 years and I'm now by sunday get rid o the pain. But it's good pain. I also started running again and I need to start punching out the km's if I'm going to beat my amount of total km's frm last year. I need about 95 km's in december so I should be out there instead of in front of the computer, But 9 pm is always a hard time to motivate myself to get out there and pile up some km's. Especially when the temperature has dropped to -13,3 C (8 F). Will kep the blogg posted on hw I do with that goal...until then I'll get back to stretching.
